I’m Jess Basso, an Italian/Aussie pattern designer and illustrator living on a leafy chestnut tree farm in sunny Andalucía, Spain.

With a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, I spent over 10 years designing gardens and landscapes. During that time, I discovered that my true passion lies in the imaginative and creative aspects of design — dreaming up beautiful spaces and bringing ideas to life — rather than the technical side of it. This realisation led me to embrace drawing for the sheer joy of creating and exploring art.

And from there, Millefolia Design was born.

Millefolia Design grew out of my deep love for nature and my lifelong passion for design and illustration. The variety of local flora and the ornamental flowers in my Mediterranean garden provide endless inspiration for my work.

Millefolia is a botanical term meaning “a thousand leaves,” and to me, it symbolises infinite possibilities, just like the creative process itself.
